Subliminal Messaging

It sounds a little creepy from my point of view but this trick is used in every day life and you probably don’t realize it. I got this idea from watching a video game commercial. I forget what it was for but this one guy that everyone loves come onto the screen and starts playing a guitar. And if you notice closely, on the end frets of the guitar are cigarettes while he is also smoking one. Yes it is for the bettering of a game that the company wants to be sold, but if you think about it, maybe the cigarette company paid to have a small piece of advertisement in the ad.
This is what I would like to define as a distinct type of subliminal messaging. Meaning that the commercial or advertisement that you see will be for something but the background to which the ad is for might be playing around with something that effect your conscious. Its hard to believe but your brain notices more things in a ‘message’ than you interpret. One thing that comes to mind when thinking about this is that when people yawn. If you are attentive to the action it sits in your sub conscious until you end up yawning. That’s where the term yawns are contagious came from. They really are since it sits there until an action is taken to deal with it.
Well back to the actual message. The commercial was for a good videogame but it looked like it was pointing out that the only way to be as cool as the character would be to act as he does, hence the smoking. Another thing that comes to mind is models and perfume commercials and ads in the newspaper. They might be modeling for just the smell with maybe a tester like in magazines, but if you notice they also where the best designers clothes. Meaning that you may only smell sensational only if you also where the best clothes along with the scent.
I have been searching around but I haven’t really found anything that has to do with this messaging in the educational system. There are some obvious ones that you can point out, and that is requirements for popular games being sold. They never tell you about system requirements but with the new graphics and things it kind of comes to mind that ‘I need a better way to deal with the problems at hand. Hey! Why don’t I just get a new system that can run the program?’
I was also reading the intentions of the Broadcasting Act in 1990. This essentially says that “No advertisement may use images of very brief duration, or any other technique which is likely to influence viewers, without their being fully aware of what has been done” (taken from blog.schools.co.uk/2008/07/01/subliminal-messages-in-school-education/). This is pretty funny since they actually realized that companies were actually performing this advertising technique. Also the website said that this does not apply to gaming industry ads. So these may be swimming with many unseen messages that definitely will affect the individual in their choice making.
So if you are willing to look around and find different things that advertise something but go for other objects let me know and comment. I personally find it amusing how this type of messaging works on the human being.

Do I really Believe? Yes I Do.

I believe that knowledge is what comes to the individual through experiencing,
it is not just achieved because of the age. ever since i could remember, there
are people that think that just because they are older means they know more than
those that are younger. This isn’t necessarily true because even the youngest
minds can have more experience in many different categories compared to those
that haven’t really done anything during their life time. Just looking back on
people that were older than me when I was younger, make me feel better about
most of the experiences I have been through because I have done quite a big
amount of stuff during this short period of time I have lived on this planet.

From traveling to social periods of time, knowledge has definitely overwhelmed
me as a
person since the brain can only hold so many events and activities in
remembrance. So I try to treasure all the moments that I have so that to see if
they really will help me. Every once in awhile I come across things I have held
on for so long and finally realized that their value has no more importance to
the world and to me. So in the end these thrown away memories are what give you
a better understanding of the world because they are of no use, meaning that
wisdom comes from all the bad events that been done and gone through.

Places and environment are also what shape you into the person that you know
and what you know to move along through time. Some experiences are definitely
used to survive through some harsh times but most others are used to interact
with the world around you and what to do in situations or how to handle certain
things. Most of the time I can get through things easily but then their are
some
things that are done wrong and I learn from “experience” of how it is to be
dealt with if it is ever come crossed again in the future.

These things are what make every person who they are and how they think. You
can not live through life without experiencing because certain aspects. These
specific situations or activities are part of character development, so I always
do things differently from people since everyone learns to do them and every
person deals with the same situations differently due to what they have been
through in life. So my point is that; do what comes to you. Listening to others
may help but then there are things that you must be willing to do on your own
because these are what truly specifies ‘you’ as an individual.

Recession or Depression?

First things first and that is what exactly is going on with the economy in this giant flux of money changing possibilities? One thing that I noticed that seriously points out this economic change is the drastically dropping price of gas and rising prices in food products. I couldn’t believe it the last time I went food shopping with my mom. Instead of the normal that we usually pay for, we got pretty much the same amount of stuff and the receipt came out with an amount that was at least twenty bucks more than what we usually pay. I swear! I know that we aren’t going into a depression but the possibility has changed everyone’s minds in the stock market. When I read the article online all I could remember was, myself saying, “That oh crap!” where is the market going to go to now?
Recession seems to me as a way to choose the path. It looks like it can be the way to choose the easy way or the right way. When I first heard about the bail out that, I might be for thinking of the better for the country, but then comes the fact that we are already in debt by a humungous chunk of money. What was it again? Like 3 trillion or something or other. If we are going to try to ‘bail’ ourselves out of this we should probably go back to all the passed events in which other countries owed us. Yes we did waiver them, but if you think about it, if we didn’t help them out in their times of need where would they be right now? Probably being ruled by a country near them which forcibly took their land would be a tolerable answer for the situation. Now that I think about it though, this would probably leave us under really bad terms with other decently powered countries around the world. *sigh* Why do politics have to play such a major role in deciding the fate of the world. I hope it is not just me saying that this will end up being a bad thing like what has happened before.
Well back to the stock market. Did anyone watch the stock market the day that recession was announced to the world? I was watching some of the off hand important markets and noticed that most dropped by like twenty or thirty percent in the first half day or so. Now this is the sort of thing that causes depression if you know what I mean. Hysteria is a plague that slowly creeps up on the population and in the end we pay for it. Like the first Great Depression, we had a small window that we could have gone through and made things easier but no…. we had to see what would happen if we did not deal with what we needed to. So I guess that the point I am trying to make is that yes, we are going downhill and things will get worse before they get any better but all the actions we are doing to try to save ourselves are more applicable to hurt us in the long run more than just leaving the stocks and see where it actually goes.
The reason that I say this is that extracting from the market leaves these major thriving businesses that help out the population with nothing to use and so they die, slowly, while we trying to save money which is increasingly becoming less of a currency/value in other parts of the planet. So stop and I hate to say this but leave the politics to the politics. And peace out…

Animals keep getting the worst treatment you can think of...

I swear that people around this nation have been doing some of the most stupid things you can ever hear. I remember from like a year or two ago about Michael Vick getting convicted of the crime of holding dog fights for money. First thing I remember that came out of my mouth was what the heck was he thinking? First of all it makes me wonder how people think that harassing and abusing animals of some type is fun. Ever since I started actually working with animals from around the world it kind of opened up what I actually think of the outside world in which these species have lived in. Then we came along and we domesticated some of them for differential uses, and others we left alone. Animal cruelty has taken up a huge variety of entertainment to the public.
Sometimes I might find a animal show that is interesting but I would never watch something that has to do with the abuse of animals on each other or humans on animals. This is where I have drawn a line that shows a difference between people I know and me. It was sort of a shocker if you want to call it that when I found out that some of my most distinguished friends like cruelty of some animals. I have kept this in mind and tried not to start up an argument with friends because that is not the way I am about if you can’t tell. Some animals I know and have had experiences with from volunteer work I have done have been known to be quite stubborn but they have their place in the world like we do.
This one tourist attraction called Safari West, in the outskirts of Sonoma County, I have seen really horrific accidents happen, but they treat them as if nothing has happened. They don’t put them down like what most civilians would do if they were hurt by a wild animal. Oh another thing that comes to mind while on the subject is that incident that happened at the San Francisco Zoo earlier this year. You remember those people that were attacked by the tiger that jumped out of its exhibit and mauled a couple people. If I am thinking correctly I believe that this animal was provoked by man that was under the influence. He was killed and the Siberian traveled through the zoo and made its way to the cafĂ© where two other people were badly injured. All were believed to be with each other, and also a sling shot was found on one of the victims. Stuff like this made me laugh. I know it is kind of a bad thing but I believe that the people that became part of this horrific incident deserved what they got.
Just out of the ordinary things like this happen, and I personally have been part of an incident like this but I don’t hold grudges like many others who have been through stuff like this. Another thing that you could say would tweak my nerves would be the old traditions places have with the killing of animals. Some parts I could see being okay because animals are used for food, and that’s part of the reason how were able to survive for this long. But the one thing that always comes to mind when it comes to animal cruelty is the old matador arena in Hispanic countries. Sometime you do hear about the man getting killed before taking his final chance to slay the beast (bull). More power to the bull in my opinion.
So I will leave you at that… I might be for animals being used for food but inhumane ways of killing off some types of animals is beyond inhumane.

Living, Prospering Creatures Before the Dinsosaur Age

So talk about new discoveries popping up left and right that are definitely mind boggling for everyone interested, me, in new species being found. Scientists were studying sheets of rock and found this eight legged creature that looked more like a plant or ‘modern party favor’, had prospered way before dinosaurs were even around. So this would bring together a large chunk of time, Ediacaran Period, which was blank of any life forms up till now.
So talk about where the heck did these things come from? What is even a greater inconvenience is where the fossils of this organism were found. They were from two totally different environments on Earth. One was from a black shale rock in South China and the other was from a quartz sample found in South Australia. According to ‘paleogeographic’ reconstructions though studies of the past show, meaning land movement (plate tectonics), that these two areas were once near each other and known as a land called Gondwana.
How they came across the figure happening to be in different places was that a scientist, Maoyan Zhu, from China, met with an Aussie, names James Gehling, at a Beijing convention and Zhu showed the guy this fossil picture and he quickly pulled out a picture that resembled what he was being shown. And what would you guess; they were very similar through picture use only. They immediately gathered as many fossils as possible and met up in near the sites in Australia that these were also discovered. While leading more than thirty people on an excavation they found many more of this eight-legged phenomenon. No question was drawn at the fact that this creature had many limbs not all connected but thin enough to act as their own arm or leg for the specimen.
After studying both fossils from both excavation sites, they came to a conclusion that this organism was a “soft bodied, dome shaped organism”. Also that it fed by absorbing nutrients from the close by environment. What is sad in my opinion that they died out for obscene reasons. This left that giant gap in the life timeline, and left the rest of the crevices of life to evolve into more complex organism that we have studied for information on the out past. Magazines have been published about this finding but most of the information is found in the one know as Geology. This tells a lot more about the specimen and how it managed to live in more than one type of living condition hopefully. If I can find this copy, maybe I will touch more on the subject but not for now….
Seriously, this just totally blows my mind as well as it should of everyone else since it makes history for adding more to the life time line that students get to learn over the years. I don’t know what it is about biological information that interests me but for some reason it definitely attracts the minds of most…

What Is up with the Movies Nowadays?

So talk about the movie theater business was be prospering right now but what exactly is up with the type of movies that are coming out at this time of the year, or better yet this decade. For some reason there are new forms of movies coming out that have been proven to be quite exciting and maybe new graphics that show enough action that let us view not the much of a movie but feel like we have.
Some of these new techniques I mean are stuff like first person camera shooting or sometimes the all graphics, 3D animation, movies that shock and awe the people around with the world with what technology has come about in the present time. Comparing this to the media, even old fashion ways of shooting stuff has become popular again. Like musicals were a blast in the past and then for some reason people decided that they were really dumb to watch and now we have at least one or two movies in the past two to three years that have been musicals of some sort. Technology has become such a major part of the ordinary lives nowadays, especially for creating movies that attract and control the audiences.
Me personally, I love how these new types of movies are attracting giant groups of people into the new age of action packed thrillers and how musicals have for some reason come back into fashion. Just from watching the old musicals though and comparing them to the new, also the thrillers, there is still one major difference you just cannot get over. This is the camera angles and how they are used for the movies. If you have ever noticed, the angle changes like every two to three seconds, yet older movies the camera change I is like ten to twelve seconds and can lengthen up to a minute or so.
Only reason I notice this though is because I took a filming class. So there is only one giant downfall when comparing the new actor and actresses to the older ones. That is that the talent of the newer ones has been decreased greatly because it sounds like they are too lazy to memorize their lines and to keep the camera rolling. It seems like they just shoot them looking away at something, and then switch the view so that they have time to break. This is probably the reason why people still like the older movies compared to the action packed, mind boggling films shot in this new millennia, because talent really does show in movies.
So these new ways to keep the audience attentive may work but to some it is really the knowledge and experience of the actors and actresses that keep people watching the old compared to the news. I wish this would be brought to the media but for some reason ideas from the singular public are looked down upon. If only this was understood, maybe we can create a new source of theater, like stage play, that brings action and experience both into play and make both sides of the spectrum as equal as possible…

A New Way to Show if Climate Changes is Occurring and How it Affects

Latest finding have showed that scientists have found a new way to discover if the global climate change will happen sooner or later. And it definitely sounds reasonable considering most of the facts they present with the case. So I was reading the article and it was saying that plants near the equator are more affected by the climate change than most places around the world because of the annual heat near the mid line of the planet.
So this event was studied by an Aussie named Angela Moles and she lived near the equator. Also for this she will receive the ‘Australian Institute of Policy and Science Tall Poppy award’ for her research on the subject. So I was like, are you joking? Seed size and plants around the world are actually constantly affected by the climate even through the changing seasons. This was so fascinating but then it can kind of be assumed about the study after you realize what the actual research was based on.
Something else that this lady brought up that proves a good point would be that further research would help us ‘pinpoint’ the traits that would either help the plant species or destroy them in future cases. With over 11,000 plants being studied for this experimental research type thing, they concluded that the plants that had the biggest seeds over all were located in the general areas of land near the equator; concluding that these plants are tropical.
Yeah, so surprisingly the seeds were over 300 the times the size of seeds that were over 60 degrees latitude away form the equators climate. So imagine looking at the seed we do every day like those of dandelions or poppies and then magnify that to where it takes up over fifty percent of your vision… THAT’S HUGE RIGHT? I know it’s outrageous! So just reading a little farther she further looks into the biggest and smallest seeds ever recorded. Supposedly the biggest is from the ‘double-coconut plant’, which can way up to about sixty pounds or so, and the smallest is of the ‘orchid’, which looks pretty much like dust in the wind and weighs like a millionth of a gram. So there is definitely is giant range of how big seeds can get for plants around the world, but the largest ones are in some way habitant to the climate of the equator.
I guess to go farther with the presented research; she decided to go backpacking around the world. Going from Asia to as far south as her thin budget would let her. So since she didn’t have all the much to go off of, mostly money-wise, she almost depended on the locals of the area and trained them as much as she could and knew, and marked as many plants as necessary to expand the experimental value of the project. Luckily though she has been given grants to significant amounts of money in grants to keep on furthering he findings. So good for her and hopefully this will help the society as a whole in the long run especially since plants provide the human species with a good chunk of our food and diet

Sept. 30, 2008... HOW CAN THIS BE! Snow falling on Mars?!?!

DUDE that is totally cool! Just thinking about the headlines brought my full attention to this. Snow actually falling on Mars is such a phenomenon, especially if you compare it to it snowing on the ground somewhere like where we live. Something you would probably get in a dozen blue moons or so. So this science probe sent to see if life was able to live on this planet happened to be strolling by the northern ice cap and decided to take a sky shot, shoot a light beam, and when the images were sent to NASA, they noticed that there were white flakes floating towards the ground.
So talk about how this further leads to what people think about life existing on other planets. Actually though, they were assessing whether the caps had acceptable living conditions. Another thing that was researched and proven to be noticed was the clay found. They say that where this is found that water ice was represented on Earth and hopefully that this also follows those rules. If so another fact can prove that life can inhabit this land. So water is definitely what scientists believe is the source of all life.
So Phoenix, the probe, when taking the pictures of this weather change calculated that this event was taking place over two miles above the surface of which the snow was actually falling. What was sad though, I thought, was that all of the snow had dissipated way before even getting close to the surface of the planet. From this though comes even sadder news for the science world and the probe that provided dire information for further studies. That is that the sun around that time sunk towards the horizon and that left our solar powered robot on not very much energy to perform any type of task. So scientists will probably hold on to this information for a decent amount of time before giving up on if life did exist or not, because the probe probably will not be able to collect any samples it can for scientists back home to analyze.
Even now, life existence is slowly mounting with how much evidence is being found for life on Mars. One of these would be that the cold, dry deserts were once water abundant and warm. Weeks before this article was released, scientists spoke out about how deformation bands found around the equatorial region, show that there was stress beneath the bed rock surface of the planet One of the scientists on this program, Chris Okubo, stated that: “water flows through these fractures and that they help us understand how the underground plumbing system of may have worked”. So to help prove his point he showed how these deposits layered in a forty three mile crater are similar to those found in the state of Utah.
So most of these evidential facts have been brought due to the fact that snow was found falling on a deserted planet that was hopefully once inhabited, as hypothesized, for a great period of time.

You Remember the Big Bang? Check this out!

So talk about I was reading this one article on the discovery channels website, and was talking about this "Dark Flow" has been slowly sucking a good chunk out of our universe to one point of space. These people, from UC Davis, discovered it by studying X-ray gases emitted by clusters of the lights in the sky. During this study session they noticed that stars where moving towards a patch that was I think a twenty degree wide area. They say that this is just a giant sideways shift in our galaxy.

So then we come to the fact that it isn't anything in this universe since everything visible from here doesn't nearly have enough mass to cause such a big gravitational pull. This one guy, Alexander Kashlinsky: "Offers is that there might be a large, very bulky neighboring part of the universe which is so far away we cannot see it. It could be, if inflationary theories are correct, a twin universe that inflated less evenly than our own did soon after the Big Bang." Along with this even our solar system is feeling a slight tug from this gravitational force. So we are talking about a smaller mirror image of our own galaxy gradually sucking up our universe to a small cluster. This means we will probably end up looking like our “twin” sometime in the distant future. So what is also coming from these experts is that the reason why this is happening is because since the other universe is clumped together all the gravity is added to one full pull which is causing this rift in space.

I know this isn't me, but last time I heard of the never ending space frontier, I thought that our universe was expanding. Then we come to the fact that this two-million-mile-per-hour flow is part of something that we wished to not believe. So amazing what technology is able to provide us with in such a short period time. Then maybe this is where the Big bang happened... You know the single atom that exploded and created everything as we know it. For all we know this could be the opposite of the theory but going seemingly slow compared to the instant affect of what started everything.

So with all the information that the universe can offer us we can only pull so much and hypothesize the blanks that are needed to be filled in that sound logical with the situation. So since there is "supposedly" something on the outskirts of our universe maybe we are talking about a chunkier parallel universe. I am just throwing things out there but maybe it isn't improbable for something like this to be real. So maybe this subject will be put to debate and hopefully there will be more exposure of what really is going on out there. With such a great force though, if this is what our astronomers think, our system will eventually get there but most definitely not anytime in our next hundred generations or so...

After Pain of Ike

From Texas to Ohio Hurricane Ike caused a lot of devastation on land and shore lines. Even though Ike has been over for nearly a week, people have still been struggling with its affects. Hard to believe though that people are beginning to thrive again in the places that we would like to call 'unknown' especially after an event like this... With people returning to their homes after being evacuated, only thing remotely familiar are the belongings floating in the sludge left over from the hurricane. One place in particular, is a restaurant in Galveston, Texas that the owners still plan to rebuild even though the damage is way worse than what they expected. Paula Munoz had this to say about his Diner: "We spent 10 years paying off this place," she told KHOU. "We'll rebuild, and we'll do it here. Where else would we go? This is our life."

With some people leaving everything behind religious people left the fate of everything of theirs to the one they believed in. One lady being interviewed by CNN was said to rush inside her "standing" home and grab a statue of the Lord and thank him greatly for not letting it take her everything. To my surprise however, some takers decided to wade it out and actually able to make it through the strong hurricane Ike. They braved it in their attic trying to keep all of their importance items close so that they didn't get taken away with the ripping winds like most of the house did.

If you ever get a chance to visit CNN's website, they really do a good job of covering all the things that this storm caused in this country. With over a dozen first person experiences of this hurricane you can get a pretty detailed story of what Ike actually did as it rampage on land continued. I have been reading a lot of stories on this subject so there are a good amount of places to go with hurricane season in the U.S.

Even though people thought they could wade it out like Gustav, this was, as predicted, going to be a major Hurricane like Katrina was many years go. Speaking of Major hurricanes, one thing that shocked me to find out while watching the news the other morning, I overheard that this years Hurricane season is going to break the new record for this country since we have had over the amount of major hurricanes and also that the weather in the Gulf is fluctuating so much that storms will be of greater abundance. So I hope that people with be smart about this whole conception and will evacuate away from the hurricane paths whenever they come around where they live. Something also that intrigues my thought on this whole subject is how far inland one of these things can get before decreasing in power.

With technology nowadays being able to predict where the storms can go, maybe this will eventually be going to predicting specific weather patterns to start evacuating places before the eye is even formed on one of these devastating weather events.

Hurricane Ike on terror Rampage

Something funny struck my mind this morning and that is how this giant hurricane season threat is kind of destroying a lot off inhabitants of the Gulf... I was watching the news and heard about how Gustav slowly dissipated  and another two hurricanes formed on the southern and east coast of the country. Talk about a rough time for these people. Gustav was supposed to be devastating though but it ended up only blowing over a few trees in Louisiana but this new one, Ike, is said to semi-destroy southern Texas. Luckily over half the population that was standing in the way of the storm  retreated from the storm but still some don't believe that it will do anything because neither did Gustav. I hope that this will eventually turn out alright, because a decent amount of people in the area refuse to leave still.
Better yet a small island off of Texas is probably going to be gone by the time this thing blows over the area since its gathering up speed and warmth, making it more powerful than what it originally was going to be. I am sorry but people nowadays can be so stubborn towards the way that weather works all around the U.S.
