Animals keep getting the worst treatment you can think of...

I swear that people around this nation have been doing some of the most stupid things you can ever hear. I remember from like a year or two ago about Michael Vick getting convicted of the crime of holding dog fights for money. First thing I remember that came out of my mouth was what the heck was he thinking? First of all it makes me wonder how people think that harassing and abusing animals of some type is fun. Ever since I started actually working with animals from around the world it kind of opened up what I actually think of the outside world in which these species have lived in. Then we came along and we domesticated some of them for differential uses, and others we left alone. Animal cruelty has taken up a huge variety of entertainment to the public.
Sometimes I might find a animal show that is interesting but I would never watch something that has to do with the abuse of animals on each other or humans on animals. This is where I have drawn a line that shows a difference between people I know and me. It was sort of a shocker if you want to call it that when I found out that some of my most distinguished friends like cruelty of some animals. I have kept this in mind and tried not to start up an argument with friends because that is not the way I am about if you can’t tell. Some animals I know and have had experiences with from volunteer work I have done have been known to be quite stubborn but they have their place in the world like we do.
This one tourist attraction called Safari West, in the outskirts of Sonoma County, I have seen really horrific accidents happen, but they treat them as if nothing has happened. They don’t put them down like what most civilians would do if they were hurt by a wild animal. Oh another thing that comes to mind while on the subject is that incident that happened at the San Francisco Zoo earlier this year. You remember those people that were attacked by the tiger that jumped out of its exhibit and mauled a couple people. If I am thinking correctly I believe that this animal was provoked by man that was under the influence. He was killed and the Siberian traveled through the zoo and made its way to the cafĂ© where two other people were badly injured. All were believed to be with each other, and also a sling shot was found on one of the victims. Stuff like this made me laugh. I know it is kind of a bad thing but I believe that the people that became part of this horrific incident deserved what they got.
Just out of the ordinary things like this happen, and I personally have been part of an incident like this but I don’t hold grudges like many others who have been through stuff like this. Another thing that you could say would tweak my nerves would be the old traditions places have with the killing of animals. Some parts I could see being okay because animals are used for food, and that’s part of the reason how were able to survive for this long. But the one thing that always comes to mind when it comes to animal cruelty is the old matador arena in Hispanic countries. Sometime you do hear about the man getting killed before taking his final chance to slay the beast (bull). More power to the bull in my opinion.
So I will leave you at that… I might be for animals being used for food but inhumane ways of killing off some types of animals is beyond inhumane.

I live next door to Safari West and am very involved with the people and the animals there. I am shocked at your statement about poor treatment of animals.
I have never seen a more conscientous group of animal caretakers. Perhaps you should gain a little more knowledge in the area.

Sorry if i worded what i said wrong..... i mean to say that it an sustainable environment not that stuff happens there that isn't let out to the public. I thought it was a fun jobs. Just using it as an example to point out workable environments compared to ones that animal could not survive and thrive in. So again, sorry if I worded that wrong
